How do you make Huggies Wipes?

We make Huggies Wipes in four easy steps:

Step 1: Listen to parents to best meet their needs and wants for thickness, strength and cleaning ability

Step 2: Use gentle ingredients for baby including 99% purified water, Aloe and Vitamin E

Step 3: Meet parents’ tough standards for production

• Prepare fluffy fibers of cellulose to make the wipes absorbent and long strands of polypropylene to make the wipes soft and strong
• Spin the materials together with air, kind of how cotton candy is made, and layer them to form a wipes sheet – we call them TripleClean* Layers
• Add mostly water and a small amount of ingredients for cleaning, skin health and safety
• Conduct tests and trials over the years to ensure the highest safety and quality

Step 4: Design parent-friendly packaging that’s convenient and easy to use for any occasion in the nursery, in the kitchen or on-the-go

What is Polypropylene?

Polypropylene is a microfiber, similar to polyester, commonly used for its softness and strength, and used in a variety of products used by families including nearly all baby wipes and other personal care items. This is a commonly used material that has been proven safe for use over decades and through hundreds of clinical tests and trials.

What are TripleClean* Layers? What does that mean?

Huggies TripleClean* Layers are strong, soft and absorbent layers to provide a gentle clean. They provide cushiony softness on the outside, absorbency on the inside, and increased thickness for cleaning.

Are Huggies Wipes nontoxic?

Yes, Huggies Wipes are nontoxic. In addition, Huggies Wipes have been rigorously tested and are safe for use on all healthy skin including hands and face.

Are Huggies Wipes flushable?

No, Huggies Wipes are not designed to be flushable in order to provide a strong and gentle wipe for baby’s skin.

Are Huggies Wipes safe to use in other applications, such as makeup removal?

Yes.

What should I do if my child has a skin irritation?

Huggies Wipes are made of 99% purified water, and are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested. However, if skin irritation does occur on your child, please discontinue use, and consult a physician if irritation persists.

Is there glass or fiberglass in Huggies wipes?

No glass or fiberglass is used in the manufacture of Huggies wipes.  Further, claims that there is glass or fiberglass in our wipes are FALSE.

I feel particles on the wipes. What are they?

In rare circumstances, the manufacturing process can cause the formation of tiny balls of microfiber on the wipe and you might be able to feel them.  The tiny balls of microfiber do not affect the safety of the product.

I see a shimmer in the wipes. What is it?

The shimmer is caused by the microfiber materials used in our wipes which can sometimes reflect light resulting in a shimmery appearance.
