Figuring out what to add to your baby registry can feel a bit like flying blind when you’re a first time mama-to-be. The baby gear market is filled to the brim with wonderful things that can make life for parents and babies easier, but there is only so much room in a house and so much money in a budget for purchasing these items, so it’s helpful to focus on the items that truly are “must-haves” before adding in the fun “extras.
There are plenty of great baby shower registry lists out there that will give you ideas for the essentials, but I thought I might add a few extra items that I’ve found to be invaluable and that I never realized I needed before becoming a mama. Hope you’ll find them to be useful as well!
1. Easy swaddles
Because they are completely fool proof, which will be much appreciated when you are trying to swaddle a grumpy baby at 3:00 A.M.
2. Sleeved bibs
Because babies are messier than you ever thought possible and these have your baby covered quite literally.
3. A nursery light
Because its nice to be able to see during middle of the night feeding sessions with your baby – running into things in the dark isn’t good time for anyone.
4. Pajamas for days
Because cozy pajamas get worn nonstop – at bedtime and for lounging around the house – you’ll want to have plenty on hand.
Because you never know how early your baby will start teething.
6. Wet bag
Because they’re not just for dirty diapers (see my favorite uses here).
