Cool ways to tell family and friends what your fabulous Baby 2.0 is up to.
Go viral with video. Sondrah Laden, a mom of three from Louisville, Kentucky, captures her youngest’s milestones on video and shares them via YouTube. "We have family in Canada, and videos are the best way to keep them filled in on Reed’s life," says Laden. She’s captured everything from baby’s first steps to first time trying a raspberry (complete with sour face).
Put up pictures. Photo-sharing websites let you upload a sizable number of photos, store, and display them online for free. Bonus: You control the privacy settings. Double bonus: Relatives can order prints they like (so you don’t have to).
Send an email blast. A good, old-fashioned email distribution list is a simple way to keep baby’s fan club in the loop. Create a group of names and zap a monthly or quarterly update.
Do a virtual scrapbook. Lots of free software and services online let you archive photos and videos in adorable digital layouts you can send in a click.
Blog about baby. "I write a blog about feeding my family," says mom of one Damaris Santos-Palmer, of Santa Cruz, California, "and I’ve posted about Maria’s first time on solids, and her first time eating pasta, pizza, all the fun foods. I love it that someday she’ll read all about these food firsts."
Tweet all about it. According to one study, 92 percent of kids in the U.S. have some sort of online presence by the time they’re 2. Some parents set up Twitter accounts in their kid’s name—and send out tweets as if their tot were talking. Tour de France champ Lance Armstrong got his fifth child, Olivia, a Twitter stream while she was still in the womb, and tweeted updates like, "I’m ‘bout ready to get outta here!" Updates in 140 characters or less: cute and easy.
